Louise Gridley (Sugi Ceramics) designed and realised, with the help of the local community, two giant relief murals totalling 26m sq. The sculptural murals at the rear of the Apex are gifted to the town and people of Bury St Edmunds as a legacy artwork to celebrate 1000 years of the Abbey and BSE’s rich heritage. The left panel depicts the martyred Edmund, King of East Anglia in the 9th century whilst the right panel showcases Bury St Edmunds as we know it today in the 21st century.
