Spiritually and culturally, masks ('barakoa') have a rich heritage in Tanzania. This influence can be seen in these different  series which uses a combination of slip decoration, raku and barrel firing techniques.  Some nod to ancient cultural artefacts while others reference the thriving fashion scene in Africa today. They are made from my studio in Elmswell, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
